LSS Chapter Spotlight

Shhhhh…. Lambda Sigma Sigma would like to share a little royal secret. On Sunday, September 22, 2019, a bluetiful and excited day, the Sorors of Lambda Sigma Sigma Alumnae chapter were up very early; assembled on the campus of Clayton State University by 6:00am, ready to tell the story about their road to Centennial status.

Intimate interviews were conducted with several key players that included Sorors Deborah Brown, Luv Brown, Tanya Blackshear, Paulette Bragg, Kyana Cannon, Sandra Kelley and Chalae Young. Each Soror provided crucial information about recruitment, Sigma Image, Programming, Marketing/Branding, chapter operations/structure, retention and Community relationship building.

Other chapter Sorors began arriving intermittently during the morning, excited about this opportunity. Sorors were chatting and laughing with one another, bringing with them three different outfits of royal blue and gold to wear during their photo shoot. Throughout the day, Sorors could be seen fixing each other’s hair, perfecting their makeup for a professional head shot, tying bows of perfection, pulling and tugging clothes here or there with one last look in the mirror for perfection; getting ready, Sigma ready!!

Lights, camera and action!!! Photos were taken in a variety of places, in a quiet corner, outside by the lake, on a staircase, inside an executive office and even in a cafeteria. Soror Mays provided pizza for her sisters and other Sorors brought and shared snacks. As the long day came to an end, the ladies of Lambda Sigma Sigma left the campus with a huge dose of blue and gold to remember for years to come…Stay tuned for the official showcase…
