Celebrating 96 Years of Sisterhood, Service, and Scholarship
Lambda Sigma Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc joined the Metro Atlanta Alumnae Chapters and participated in a full weekend of activities in honor of Founders’ Month. It was a weekend of reflection, rededication, community service, and transformation.
Friday night, we reflected on our Sigma journey and rededicated ourselves back to the sisterhood. We accepted the call to action to continue to love one another and uplift the values of Sigma.
Saturday, we participated in a Day of Service. This year, we partnered with the Disabled American Veterans for the DAV5K. Sorors volunteered and demonstrated in true Sigma fashion, Greater Service, Greater Progress. Sorors performed various roles from honoring the veterans by handing out medals to capturing their memories by taking their photos.
Sorors that Pray together, Stay together. Sunday, we visited New Vision Christian Church for Sunday worship. It was truly a spirit filled experience that set the course for transformation.
We also supported From Tragedy to Triumph: The Monologue, which was produced by a Soror. The Monologue fell in line with our Women’s’ Wellness Initiative. Sorors were able to hear stories from women who experienced different storms in their lives, but through the Grace of God, were able to overcome. Resources for mental health, domestic Violence, HIV/ AIDS, and others were provided to assist anyone needing information. Proceeds from the program went to support the Women’s Wellness Initiative.
