OUR HERSTORY
The Lambda Sigma Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. was chartered June 9, 2012 by twelve phenomenal Sorors:

An award-winning chapter, having received numerous national and regional accolades for sorority programming and community service, Lambda Sigma Sigma prides itself on serving the Stockbridge, Georgia community through the sorority's motto, “Greater Service Greater Progress.”
From 2012-2020, the chapter grew it's membership from 14 Sorors to 105, including inducting the largest TORCH class in the sorority's history of 36 new members in April 2018.
CHAPTER GOALS
Function on the principles of sisterhood, scholarship and service which represent the core of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.
Operate on a foundation of integrity, honesty and respect.
Address concerns that impact our society politically, civically and economically.
Represent Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. by exemplifying the highest ethical conduct as dedicated professionals and dynamic leaders of the future.
Enhance the quality of life within our local community.
Strive to promote Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. through sisterhood, educational development and community advocacy.

SORORITY MISSION
It is the mission of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. to enhance the quality of life for women and their families in the U.S. and globally through community service, civil, and social action. Our goal is to achieve greater progress in the areas of education, health awareness, and leadership development. Our members, affiliates, staff, and community partners work to create and support initiatives that align with our vision.
SORORITY FACTS
We are the only member of the NPHC which started as a professional sorority.
We are the only NPHC sorority founded at a predominately white institution.
We are the only sorority founded at Butler University.
We have over 500 chapters in the U.S., Bahamas, Bermuda, the Virgin Islands, Canada, Germany, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates.
